Hello West Morris Central Boys Lacrosse Families,

Hopefully everyone is settled into the new school year and what will clearly be the new norm for some time. While we do not know what the upcoming spring high school sports season will look like, we do need to start preparing for it. For Coach Goodwin, his staff and the WMC boys lacrosse teams, this means participating in the ISP Event Center 2020-2021 ISP Winter LAX League. For those who do not know, the ISP Winter LAX League is comprised of multiple local high school boys lacrosse team. These are teams from both public and private high schools. While participation in the winter league is not required, it is highly recommnded, particularly due to the cancellation of the spring 2020 season. This is the only way for the boys to play together as a cohesive group prior to the spring 2121 season, therfore, participation would be greatly beneficial to the team as a whole.

Coach Goodwin has received confirmation from management at ISP that the registration process for this upcoming winter season has started. As in years past, Coach Goodwill would like to field at least (2) two teams. This will include a team which competes at the upperclassman level and one that competes at the freshman level. If the number of interested boys warrant it, Coach will set up (3) three teams. As such we are asking that you let both Coach Goodwin and myself know if your son is interested in participating in the ISP League starting in December 2020.

Below is some information about the ISP league play:

Days of Week: Sundays – 12/06/2020 – 2/07/2021
Game Start Times: 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Days Off: 12/27/2020 & 1/03/2021

The deadline to register our WMC Teams is November 1, 2020. The registration fee for each player is $299.00. This is not a fee that either WMC or the Boy Lacrosse Parents Club pays for. Additionally, you will not be able to register your son until the club registers the WMC teams. Once we get a head count and determine the number of potential teams, a follow up email will provide you with the registration link.

ISP has also posted the following note regarding a potential refund:

Special Note Regarding Refunds:

If Covid-19 prevents the league or a portion of the league from occurring, please know that refunds will be issued.

As the opportunity to both register our WMC teams and our players is short, please reply via email to both Coach Goodwin and myself if your son is playing in the ISP League by October 12th, 2020. Our email contact information is as follows:

Robert Goodwin
Head Coach, West Morris Central Varsity

Jim Van Woert
President, West Morris Central Parents Club

Lastly look for upcoming emails which will further detail some additional information about the upcoming boys lacrosse season.

Hello Wolfpack Families,

It is will very heavy heart that I share news of the passing of Vinnie Desiderio’s father. He passed away unexpectedly on Monday. Vinnie is a rising sophomore lacrosse player on our Wolfpack lacrosse team. At this time I do not have more information but will share anything I learn with the team. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Vinnie and his entire family.

Jonathan’s favorite memory of playing lacrosse in high school is the two wins the team captured during the trip to Virginia last year.

Jonathan will be going to Scranton in the fall and may pursue playing club lacrosse.

Join us in wishing Jonathan all the best in his future plans!

This concludes our senior spotlight. We hope you have enjoyed reading these and celebrating the Class of 2020!
